What Everyone Says When I Tell Them I’m A Budget Coach

I have been telling more people about my new budget coaching biz lately since the amount of sessions I’m doing in a week is already rivaling the amount of time I spend on my other entrepreneurial endeavors, holy moly! I did not expect to have this much interest this quickly.

And every single friend or acquaintance that I have talked to about my budget coaching has said something like, “Oh shit, I need that.”

This is a very different response than I’m used to in my other businesses where very few people are really looking for or recognize the need for what I offer (home birth midwifery and midwifery training), so I still am getting used to this very different version of the conversation!

Now this doesn’t mean that budget coaching is really right for everyone RIGHT NOW though. It is a pretty major commitment and involves quite a lot of mental homework, emotional excavation, time, and an investment if you’re going to work with a coach.

But if you are one of my beloved friends, and perhaps you were only reading this to be supportive but then realized you badly need some new energy in your budgeting and money life (but don’t want to work with me as a coach, ha!), here is what I recommend you do.

  1. Create a YNAB account (you get a free month to try it out)

  2. Go to their next live FREE Getting Started workshop

  3. Spend a good amount of time creating your groups and categories and setting targets on all of them so you can figure out what amount you REALLY need each month to not accumulate debt each month and/or to reach new goals you have identified.

  4. Face the realities of your situation (sometimes this is an oofta moment) and make a plan to increase income/decrease spending if needed!

  5. If you’re still having a hard time getting off the ground, circle back to me and reach out! I maybe have some group coaching options in the near-ish future in addition to my usual one on one coaching.
